The artist had a few concepts in mind when she started this painting. None of them seemed to spark the inspiration inside of her. Tyler thought about what I wanted to create on this canvas for a long time, which was gifted by her friend Jemima.

The artist had been struggling with major artist blocks and felt as if she really needed to push herself to create. The 2024 art market season concluded of roughly 31 art shows, which left the artist feeling depleted of creative energy. One day, Tyler decided to prime the canvas. Sometimes all you have to do is just start and things start to come together. Shortly after, she saw the vision. It was 2 trees side by side forming the shape of a heart.

The artist wanted to add actual leaves with a sponge, but she didn’t want to cover up the detail. It was important that the trees were barren. It represents the people in your life that will be there forever. They are your roots when the leaves (temporary connections) fall after a season. The vine represents God. Even though you may feel barren, God’s love is always there to pick us up when we have fallen short.

Love is deep, especially when it is unconditional. Tyler describes herself as someone who loves with her heart wide open, which has also caused her a lot of pain. She felt as if people left her in pieces at times. A new prospective shifted in the artist… Maybe those people needed love at the time. There was a quote that she heard that went a little like this: “maybe your gifts aren’t for you. Maybe they are for other people”. Felt.

This painting is inspired by the love that we give to others. There was a time when Tyler closed off her heart from human connection because it didn’t feel safe, which caused a lot of loneliness, isolation and darkness. The artist thought that if she pushed everyone away, she would avoid pain. The right people will love you for who you are.

This painting is a reminder to lead with love. It’s not always easy. Impatience and impulse make us want to react when we are hurt, but love is what heals in the end.

This is called “A Love as Deep as the Ocean”.

Over 30 hours of heart & soul were put into this one of a kind original painting.
